Brochure on the research field of nature conservation and renewable energies

Global biodiversity loss and climate change are closely linked and extend into the individual regions of Germany. In order to preserve our biodiversity, climate protection is urgently needed - and so is the switch to renewable energies. The same applies to the protection of our natural and cultural landscapes, which are also important for human experience of nature and recreation.

BfN is therefore concentrating its own research field on the design of an energy transition that is compatible with nature and that brings together these sometimes conflicting concerns.
Research is the key to this: Sound knowledge and objective findings can reconcile the concerns of nature conservation with the requirements of energy practice. The goal is a joint project: the nature-compatible energy transition.

The research projects presented in this brochure provide the first new impulses.
