Call for proposals ‘Water heat pumps - trends, effects and nature conservation relevance’

The Federal Agency for Nature Conservation awards the expert report ‘Water heat pumps - trends, effects and nature conservation relevance’ by public tender.

The aim of the report is to recognise trends in the expansion of water heat pumps and to derive and roughly assess the associated impacts on water ecology and morphology as well as the surrounding banks and edges. In addition, a categorisation of the current legal situation and the nature conservation relevance with the simultaneous identification of general knowledge gaps on the topic is planned.

The Federal Agency for Nature Conservation (BfN) is providing expert scientific advice on this question to the Federal Ministry of the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (Bundesumweltministerium, BMUB). Research by the BfN always has a practical application and generates scientific results for advising government i.e. supplies a basis for decision-making for the preparation, implementation, monitoring and further development of nature conservation measures and the Federal Government's nature conservation policy.
