The R&D project focused on the first-time legal recognition of anti-collision systems (ACS) as a technically suitable protective measure. In addition to the question of how further systems can be recognised as “demonstrably effective in avoiding harm”, the issue also arose of how these systems can remain within the limits of economic reasonableness.
Among the questions to be discussed at the closing event are:
- How is the fundamental effectiveness of systems recognised? Which systems have already been tested?
- What role does the assessment framework of the state of Schleswig-Holstein play in the recognition of systems?
- What evidence must be submitted as part of the permitting procedure?
- What options exist for reducing yield losses and uncertainties when using ACS?
- Which stipulations are appropriate as part of the permit?
