Call for Abstracts open until 19.04.2023

The international conference is dedicated to the nature conservation aspects of onshore and offshore wind energy development from 18 to 22 September 2023 in Šibenik, Croatia.

Abstracts for presentations, workshops, special sessions and posters can be submitted until 19.04.2023 on the following topics:

  • Regulatory and planning aspects of wind energy projects
  • Species-specific responses of onshore and offshore wind energy projects
  • Cumulative and population effects of wind energy projects
  • Ecosystem and habitat effects of wind energy projects
  • Current and future technology for wind energy and wildlife monitoring and minimisation of impacts
  • Dealing with uncertainty in wind energy and biodiversity assessments
  • Minimising and mitigating impacts of wind energy projects
  • Future issues – emerging challenges and solutions
  • Wind energy and biodiversity in practice

How can the expansion in renewable energies be designed in harmony with nature? The Federal Agency for Nature Conservation (BfN) is providing expert scientific advice on this question to the Federal Ministry of the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (Bundesumweltministerium, BMUB). Research by the BfN always has a practical application and generates scientific results for advising government i.e. supplies a basis for decision-making for the preparation, implementation, monitoring and further development of nature conservation measures and the Federal Government's nature conservation policy.
