New Guideline on the implementation of the Federal Compensation Regulation for power line projects published

The new "Guideline on the implementation of the Federal Compensation Regulation for power line projects – overhead lines and underground cables" is an interpretation and application aid to support enforcement and approval authorities, project developers, state authorities and planning offices in applying the Federal Compensation Regulation.

With the "Legal Regulation on the Mitigation and Compensation of Impacts on Nature and the Landscape under the Jurisdiction of the Federal Administration", or Federal Compensation Regulation (Bundeskompensationsverordnung BKompV) for short, which came into force on 3 June 2020, the impact regulation under nature conservation law (Sections 14 et seq. BNatSchG) has been technically implemented and standardised across federal states in an ordinance for the first time.

The newly published ‘Guideline on the implementation of the Federal Compensation Regulation for power line projects - overhead lines and underground cables’ replaces the previous overarching handout and is therefore applicable in its own right as an updated and expanded guideline.

The guideline includes a summary in English.
