Solar farms wanted for research project!

Research into diversity-promoting management practices in ground-mounted photovoltaic plants (FF-PVA) in Saxony-Anhalt, Saxony and Hesse

Anhalt University of Applied Sciences is seeking solar parks maintained to varying standards for the DiMa-PV project – ‘Diversity-promoting maintenance management in ground-mounted photovoltaic installations’ – funded by the Federal Agency for Nature Conservation, in the regions

  • Central-southern Saxony-Anhalt and northern Saxony (Leipzig area) and
  • Greater Giessen/Marburg area

solar parks managed in different ways. The existing parks must be subject to the same management regime for at least three consecutive years: mulching, mowing (with removal) or grazing.

The studies in the solar parks will focus on flora, grasshoppers, butterflies, wild bees and ecological functions, and will take place between May 2026 and September 2027. The collected data and results will be published exclusively in anonymised or aggregated form following the completion of the project. If required, the collected data may be made available to the respective operator. Access to the site should be guaranteed for project staff in both years.
