BfN networking workshop on 17.12.2021

Comparison of the assessment approaches developed in the two BfN projects "EE100-konkret" and "Planspiel EE" for the nationwide determination of land potential for wind energy use with special consideration of nature and landscape concerns.

DeCember 17 2021 (09:30–12:45h), online / Zoom

In the research projects "RE100 im practice" (research association under the direction of the Institute for Environmental Planning, Leibniz University of Hanover) and Regional Simulation Game RE (Ostwestfalen-Lippe University of Applied Sciences and Arts/Bosch & Partner) funded by the Federal Agency for Nature Conservation (BfN), two assessment approaches were developed in parallel, which can be used to determine potential areas for wind energy use on a nationwide scale.

In both projects, special attention was paid to the consideration of nature and landscape concerns, which were mapped and evaluated as spatial resistances (University of Hannover) or conflict risks (TH OWL/B&P).

In the networking workshop, the commonalities and differences of the two methodological approaches will now be worked out and the possibilities and limitations discussed with regard to their use.

The workshop is specifically aimed at research participants of the Federal Agency for Nature Conservation (BfN) in the thematic focus Nature Conservation and Renewable Energies as well as actors working on the land demand of the energy transition.
