Bat migration over the North Sea and Baltic Sea

The final report "Bat migration over the North Sea and Baltic Sea" of the R&D project BATMOVE (FKZ 3515 82 1900) unites for the first time the current state of knowledge on the flights of bats over the German Bight and the Baltic Sea

As part of the project, data with the highest possible temporal and spatial resolution on the occurrence of bats migrating over the seas were collected and analysed. In this process, species and origin were also investigated.
The results will serve as a first basis for the development of an evaluation methodology for the assessment of offshore bat migration. Also, the transferability of collision mitigation measures - such as shutdown algorithms at onshore wind turbines -to offshore wind turbines was evaluated.
