Handbook on energy concepts and nature conservation published

The Department of Landscape Planning and Development of the Institute of Landscape Architecture and Environmental Planning at the Technische Universität Berlin has compiled a handbook for practitioners on the basis of over 60 evaluated energy and climate protection concepts for improved consideration of nature conservation concerns in the planning and implementation of climate protection measures.

Practical experience and suggestions from the model areas and cities of Offenbach, Osnabrück, the biosphere area Bliesgau and the climate protection region "Hohe Schrecke" were incorporated.

The handbook addresses actors in regions, districts and municipalities who are involved or interested in the preparation and design of energy and climate protection concepts as well as in the realisation of the measures for climate protection, energy saving and the promotion of renewable energies contained therein. This includes, for example, climate protection managers, regional planning offices, environmental, building and urban planning offices, engineering offices, urban and landscape planners, farmers and foresters, but also environmental and nature conservation associations.
